After a long break, Deepika Padukone has started her preparation for for her most-anticipated film ‘Chhapaak’. In Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’, Deepika will be playing the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
Actress shared a picture of her with co-star Vikrant Massey on Instagram which clearly indicates that Deepika has started script reading session with her team. She captioned the image as: “All things are ready, if our mind be so-William Shakespeare #Chhapaak @meghnagulzar @foxstarhindi @vikrantmassey87”

A buzz also states that Deepika will be staying in Delhi for a while to understand the character sketch and surroundings. Earlier Meghna told leading daily that when she first saw Laxmi’s before attack picture, the only name popped in her mind was-Deepika.
“I could not believe when Deepika agreed to play the role. To essay the role of an acid attack survivor is very difficult,” said Meghna.
“Deepika met Laxmi in Delhi a few years back. As for the film, she is working eight hours a day to perfect the role. Besides readings with Meghna, she is also using photographs and videos of Laxmi as her reference points. The team has also collated data about other acid attack survivors to get an in-depth understanding about the subject,” Mumbai Mirror reported.
Deepika will be co-producing the film too. Meghna Gulzar’s last release ‘Raazi’ starring Alia Bhatt received a-lot of appreciation. It will exciting to watch two talents collaborating for another blockbuster. Stay tuned with us for more Bollywood news and updates.
