Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi elbowed out the other films in 2016, to make it to the numero uno spot ,on a poll carried out by a popular entertainment portal.

The Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer topped the list of the Best Mainstream Films of 2016 , going by the latest results published by the website.
In the poll that nominated the most commercially successful and appreciated films of last year, the slice of life drama, directed by Gauri Shinde, got nearly 35% votes with a big edge over its closest competitor, Sultan which got 21% votes., and Dangal closing in with 13.5% votes.
Surrounding by the dark clouds of demonetization, this film has come out as a victorious, where other films couldn’t even recover their budgets. We are here talking about flop movies like Force 2, Rock On 2, and Tum Bin 2. Well, this movie was released in 1800 screens across the world and has garnered good response from critics and audience.Directed by Gauri Shinde, the film also stars Angad Bedi, Kunal Kapur, and Ali Zafar.
The coming of age drama , starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt among others, released nationwide on the 25th November,2016 and went on to receive applause from the critics, industry and the Gen-X audience the film was targeted at.
