Cricketers play a high profile sport which has never remained a stranger to controversy for long. Right from beating terrible accidents to fatal illness, cricketers had death knocking on their doors, The national teams have cult followings and the players are worshipped. This makes us forget that the players are not invincible, but managed to beat it in style! they have had close brushes with death as well. Just have a look at these cricketers who had confront death experience. 1On Friday, Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir narrowly escaped an accident after the helicopter that was carrying the two crashed immediately after dropping them in Cox’s Bazar 2Yuvraj Singh is an Indian international cricketer, an all-rounder who bats left-handed in the middle order and bowls slow left-arm orthodox. Yuvraj Singh was diagnosed with lung cancer. The tumour that had grown between his lungs spread soon after , the cricketer battled cancer and emerged as the same old strong batsman he once was! 3Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar also faced almost death-like experience while railway track crossing. Jesse Ryder, the New Zealand batsman, is in an induced coma in hospital after brutally beaten in a bar fight in the year 2013. He's been accused of late night drinking, having his hand slashed by having it stuck through a toilet window and of verbally abusing his team manager, Dave Currie. 6.Muttiah Muralitharan had a narrow death experience with the tsunamis which wrecked havoc in south Asia and claimed over 21,000 lives. Michael John Clarke is a former international cricketer and captain of Australia. He led Australia to their 5th Cricket World Cup triumph when his team defeated New Zealand in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at theMCG . After Undergoing several surgeries , Michael emerged cancer free. 8.Former Australian cricketer, Matthew Hayden survived testicular cancer. he is a former Australian cricketer. Hayden was a powerful and aggressive left-handed opening batsman, r. He was grievously injured in his testicles with a football at the age of 16. But however, Hayden had successfully beaten the fatal disease. 9.A former England fast bowler, batsman Andrew Flintoff escaped death in the year 2007 when his adventurous spirit resulted in tragedy. Flintoff is an English professional cricketer and boxer. Flintoff was heavily drunk and aboard a boat along with his teammates. Induced by alcohol, he jumped into the Caribbean Sea and survived from a fatal drown. , Flintoff was consistently rated by the ICC as being among the top international all-rounders in both ODI and Test cricket. 10.Dinesh Chandimal is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and a former limited over captain for Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan cricketer, Dinesh Chandimal escaped the horrendous Tsunami that occurred in the year 2004. Dinesh’s residence was entirely destroyed in the incident, but his entire family emerged unharmed.
