Censor Board Demands To Cut Intimate Scene From UnIndian Movie
Yet another film found itself hanging down the axes of Censor Board, this time, it’s ‘UnIndian’ movie. This Australian flick has been directed by Anupam Sharma which stars Tannishtha Chatterjee and Cricketer Brett lee in the titular roles. This is one of a kind of a romantic movie that is about to release soon. Though the film has been passed from the Australia Censor Board with ‘M’ (Mature) certificate, but in India, the Censor Board demands a big cut from the movie.
The CBFC has demanded to cut the love making a scene of 65 Seconds from the movie ‘UnIndian’. This really made the director a bit annoyed, as per him the particular scene plays an important role and without it, the movie makes no sense.
Here’s what the Australian filmmaker Anupam Sharma said to a leading tabloid,“It is a beautiful scene where they make love for the first time. At the same time, Tannishtha’s parents are watching a spiritual leader on TV speak about opening your chakras. The music escalates as the sequences set in the two different settings unfold. It is artistically shot but the Indian Censor Board wants it to be cut. We have been asked to only show Lee’s side profile and not his back and to remove the spiritual context. That’s like ripping off the film’s heartbeat.”
The film is all set to hit the theatres in India on August 5. Now, we have to see how the makers will approach on this censor cut issue. We will let you know if any update comes about this space.
