Censor Board Chief, Pahlaj Nihalani is back-fired by Arnab Goswami for his way of censoring movies
Finally, we know the reality of how these movies are censored. Well, to be honest, most of the movies are not even viewed by the Chief Pahlaj Nihalani, as he relies on his team to watch them on his behalf and go ahead with their decision as final.
In a recent interview with hot headed Arnab Goswami, it looked as if both were in a heated argument about defending each other for their roles. On one side, Arnab was eagerly waiting for an explanation from Nihalani in return to his statement; “I don’t watch any movies before censoring them.” On the other side, Nihlani had statements ready to defend him.
According to the censor board chief, he feels it isn’t necessary for him to watch every movie before censoring it as his chosen panel very well knows the Government Act and Norm that they follow. Arnab doesn’t seem to be quite impressed with the response and seeks a broader answer to this.
One thing can surely be stated that Nihalani was honest enough to answer about his unwatched movies, while Arnab performed the role of a journalist well. To tell you a joke revealed in the most sarcastic manner, Arnab also reminded him of the song “Khada Hai Khada Hai”, from the movie Andaz, which was produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. I must say that he is one of the smart personalities to get away with the accusation by simply answering that he wasn’t the censor head at that time.
During the entire interview, I failed to rate whether it could be termed as hilarious, sarcastic, offensive, or what? Whatever it is, I am sure movie makers who are struggling for a censor approval are surely going to enjoy this amazing piece. Those who are yet to watch it, do it right now!
