2016 was definitely not the year for love. Not for celebrities. We called 2015 the “year of the breakup,” and while we thankfully didn’t see quite as many celebrity splits go down in 2016. It was the most talked about topic in the industry and still makes the major tabloid news. Ranbir Kapoor has a lot of respect for Katrina Kaif even after the two broke up after a long six-year relationship. 2. Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna BhabaniThe couple announced their mutual decision to separate amicably after 16 years of marriage. Bollywood couple Farhan and Adhuna Akhtar have ended their 15-year-long marriage. Aditi Rao Hydari was Farhan’s co-star in the recently released thriller Wazir, and the growing closeness between the two seems to have caused multiple fights between Farhan and Adhuna. 3. Arbaaz Khan-Malaika AroraSpeculations were rife that Malaika and Arbaaz were headed for divorce for quite a few months. They now live separately and maintain a cordial relationship for the best interest of their son, Arhaan. Malaika Arora Khan has supposedly ended her 18-year marriage with Arbaaz Khan because of the latter's unsuccessful career. 4. Sushant Singh Rajput-Ankita LokhandeAnother sad break-up: Ankita and Sushant went different ways after being together for six years. Reports suggested Sushant called it quits following his success in Bollywood. Reportedly Ankita’s past experiences had made her very insecure about this relationship and she constantly worried that it wouldn’t work out. 5. Upen Patel-Karishma TannaUpen decided to announce his break-up with Karishma on Twitter. They were in the news again after they reportedly had an ugly fight on a street. it's understandable, because most of their lives are spent in front of cameras, and very little is left private. 6. Frank Gastambide-Richa ChadhaRicha called it quits with Frank this year in February, putting an end to their 9-month long distance relationship. However, reportedly, her work schedule was not allowing her to devote much time for the relationship, even though she often visited France to be with the beau. They were very much in love but could not sustain the long-distance relationship. 7. Om Puri-NanditaVeteran actor Om Puri and wife Nandita have opted for judicial separation after 26 years of marriage. Reportedly, things turned ugly between them following Nandita’s biography of the actor. No exact reason is out for their separation. But 26 years of marriage has now finally ended, and it ended on a bad note. 8. Ashwin Ramkumar-SoundaryaAccording to reports, Soundarya and her husband Ashwin Ramkumar have filed for divorce at the family court. Buzz is that they had a difference of opinion for a long time now. 9. Sidharth Malhotra-Alia BhattBreak-up rumours of Alia and Sidharth have been doing the rounds for a while now but they have always denied being together as a couple. Sidharth Malhotra was mighty upset with her for showering all her attention on Varun during the Dream Team tour they're when they were on their trip. 10. Brad Pitt-Angelina JolieThis was yet another massive breakup that shocked fans and caused a lot of media frenzy. The love story of Angelina Jolie-Pitt and Brad Pitt, who were married in 2014, has come to an unhappy end. The couple was together for 12 years and it was heard that their arguments got worse and they disagreed a lot about parenting and other matters.
