Meghna Srivastav, a student of Step by Step School, Noida has topped CBSE class 12 with a whopping score of 99.8%. The results of CBSE Class 12 was announced on Saturday, where Girls outperformed Boys. Meghna Srivastav topped CBSE Class 12th exam after scoring 499 marks out of 500. Meghna has scored faultless 100 in History, Geography, Psychology, Economics and 99 marks in English. Talking to media she shared her experience, “There is no secret, you just have to work hard and be consistent throughout the year. I never counted the number of hours I studied. My teachers and parents have been really helpful. They never pressured me.” She is the niece of former CBI director Anil Sinha, who himself admitted, that she has always been a brilliant student. He also quoted, “She has always been a very bright and studious girl. She has brought laurels to our family and we are proud of her.”
Meghna Srivastav talking with reporters said, “It’s been a really thrilling experience. There is no secret and one has to work hard throughout the year.” The second position was also taken by a girl named, Anoushka Chand a humanities stream student. Anoushka scored 498 out of 500. The third position was maintained by seven students who scored 497 marks out of 500. Girls have a passing percentage of 88.31% against the boys with 78.99%. Trivandrum (Kerala) has a pass percentage of 97.32% which is the best performing region, Chennai has the second best region’s pass percentage of 93.87%, the third spot was occupied by Delhi with 89% pass percentage.
People are amazed that how can a person score 99 in English and 100 in Philosophy, as both of these subjects have a boundless scope for imagination and creativity. Almost seven students are tied with 497 marks to secure the third position across the country. About 12,000 students have scored 95 percentile and above in Class 12th which is difficult to imagine. However, Meghna Srivastav has been trolled all over social media for scoring 99.8% which almost sounds astonishing for many people.
