Cancer Survivor Narrates Story Of Her Pain, Fight Back And Finding True Love!

Cancer, the word itself sounds shocking and brings a chill down on your spines. Despite all the medical advances have been made, in most of the cases, which are diagnosed with deadly conditions see their dreams shatter before them. But there are some who have been lucky to fight back cancer and win.

Solani Halder is one of those luckiest ones who has fought back and lived to tell her courageous story. In the viral Facebook Post, Solanki has shared her inspiring story about how she has finally fought cancer.

She utters “I was 26 when I first noticed a lump in my breast. I went to the doctor but was misdiagnosed around four times. A year passed and my lump had grown from 2 cm to 10 cm. I went to a multi-specialty hospital and insisted on doing a test.” After detailed examination in Tata Medical Center Mumbai, Sonalki has been left with the result that has been pretty difficult to digest.

“One night, as my friends celebrated successful placements, I stared at my results. Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Stage 3 breast cancer. The reports couldn’t be true, I thought. I was 27 years old. Breast cancer was a disease which happened to older women.”

When she began her chemo session, Sonalki has lost her hair and as she felt she expressed, “I looked like an alien.” However, she has remained positive and continued with the grueling treatment. He could feel that a tumour is shrinking within.

She expressed, “After finishing college, I went to Mumbai and got a chemo port inserted as my veins were burnt with the medicines by now. I started a series of twelve weekly sessions and flew back for my convocation two days later. When I climbed on the IIMB stage, everyone clapped louder than ever.”

After more than 20 sessions of radiotherapy to destroy the stray cells that have burnt the skin black, Sonalki says that she couldn’t feel the tumor anymore. Though the doctors have declared that she is out of cancer and have been cured completely, the heavy dose and treatment of medicines have gradually made her weak.

She wrote, “I have the support of my family, friends and especially my boyfriend who has stood by me like a rock. We are getting married in December. I can’t wait to start this new phase of my life with a man who has loved me not only at my best but also at my worst and held on at my weakest. Though some people are surprised that we are getting married but true love is about loving one’s soul.”
