BREAKING: “Pehredaar Piya Ki” Goes Off-Air Without Informing The Star-Cast

Pehredaar Piya Ki is one of the most talked about show in India. The show landed in controversy even before it went on air. People started reacting to the shows, as soon as its promo went live. Much to the disappointment, the show has been in news for all the wrong reasons.

Basically, the story of the “Pehredaar Piya Ki” is very controversial. It revolves around a 9-year-old boy, who stalks a girl and eventually purposing her for the marriage. Finally, they both marry in some very unavoidable circumstances. Upon, the competition of the marriage, the girl decided to guard her 9-year-old husband and become his ‘Pehredaar’. The premise of the show is very disturbing for the viewers. Viewers and some of the celebrities have shown their displeasure towards the show.

The show created lots of controversy for promoting child marriage. Most of the people in the country also didn’t like to see a little boy romancing and marrying a girl of twice his age. If that was not enough, the makers of the show even dared to shoot Suhaagraat sequences between the newlywed couple Ratan and Diya. The Suhaagraat scene didn’t have any obscene and objectionable sequence, but the idea itself was enough to create a rage among the viewers.

People became furious with the concept of the show. The viewers were so infuriated that they started an online petition for banning the show. The online petition had some impact, as BCCC asked Sony Channel to change the timing of the show from 8:30 to 10:30 PM. The makers of the show were also instructed to run a disclaimer stating that the show doesn’t promote child marriage.

In order to keep the show going, the makers were planning to take a 12-year leap in order to end all these restrictions. The makers were even started auditioning candidates for the grown-up Ratan.

But it seems that all these efforts from the makers have failed to do any good. The channel seems to have pulled off ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’.

Finally, ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ has gone off-air. You heard it, right folks! The channel airing the show has not aired ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ yesterday on 28th August 2017. The event created lots of shock among the cast and crew of the show.

Sony TV has issued an official statement saying ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ going off-air

“Effective 28th August 2017, we are pulling off our programme, Pehredaar Piya Ki, from television. While we understand that the decision to end this serial will be disappointing to those whose creative energies are vested in it, namely, its crew and cast, we (as a channel) are convinced that we will be better served by focusing instead on developing viewer interest in our upcoming, new shows. We are grateful to all the artists, producers and fans of our shows and request you to graciously support the viewership of our newer ventures.”

Talking about the show going off-air, Joten Lalwani said, “Yes. If the episode hasn’t aired then you know the news is true.”

It can be seen as a big disappointment to the fans of the show, but overall viewers would be very happy with this decision of the channel.
