Bollywood Actors Have No Qualms About Ageing On-Screen Anymore!

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Baar Baar Dekho is all set to release on the 9th of September. The trailer was a appreciated by the audience and people eagerly waited for its release. Well, from the trailer it seemed the movie wended through different time periods and the duo, Siddharth and Katrina were seen donning different looks. For their venture, Baar Baar Dekho, the actors will be seen sporting the looks of a teenager, a middle-aged person and the state of being old as well. From the looks of it, it seems Katrina and Siddharth are quite comfortable with ageing on screen. Nowadays, in Bollywood, the actors do not shy away from playing roles older than their age. It seems as if the celebs are into experimenting with the kind of roles they can portray on the silver screen. Remember Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz In Barfi ? They sported the look of old men and women perfectly and absolutely stunned the audience with their performances. Even the King Khan didn't back out from ageing on screen. He played the aged role of Veer Pratap Singh in Veer-Zaara and did it with absolute perfection. Hrithik Roshan in Krrish and Krrish 3 ? Yes! He played the role of an old man, who was a child from his mind and heart as well. That was a beautiful performance indeed! While we are talking about the handsome actors, lets not forget about the most beautiful actress in the tinsel town. Yes! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan! She sported an older look with panache in the film Sarbjit. Even though the movie didn't go down well with the audience but her performance was highly appreciated. In the earlier days of the Indian cinema, actors usually held themselves back from ageing on screen from the fear of being typecasts, but the artists now think otherwise. For them, its a challenge and they love to experiment with the characters they portray and do not desist themselves from playing older parts in their films with the help of prosthetics. There were reports that Madhuri Dixit and Tabu were approached for the role of Priyanka and Ranveer's mother in the film Dil Dhadakne Do. But sadly, both of them turned town the offer as they didn't want to play a mother on-screen. Don't you think it would have been amazing if either of the two beautiful actresses would have played the role opposite Anil Kapoor? It would have been a visual treat! Well, if you think that no actor wanted to look older than their usual age on screen in the yesteryears, then you are wrong. You need to watch Nargis in Mother India and Sharmila Tagore in Aradhana to believe us. Well, in the golden years of Indian cinema, there was Nirupa Roy, who played the role of a mother in every film back then and was considered as the typical mother of Bollywood. Well, its really admirable and impressive that the new generations in Bollywood are trying to explore and try different kind of roles even if that means they have to portray an older age on screen.
