BLACKBUCK CASE FINAL VERDICT: Salman Khan Gets 5-Year JAIL TERM, Lawyers To Move Rajasthan High Court For Bail
Salman Khan is convicted of killing 2 blackbucks in 1998 and other actors like Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu are acquitted. Salman Khan was in Abu Dhabi for the shoot of ‘Race 3’. Due to the hearing of the case, he flew from Mumbai to Jodhpur in a chartered flight. It was during the shooting of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ the poaching case happened in Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He was charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and the other actors were charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.
A Jodhpur trial court has sentenced Salman Khan to five years of imprisonment in the 20-year-old blackbuck poaching case. The actor has also to pay a penalty of Rs 10000. Bhawani Singh, the Public Prosecutor told CNN-News18: “We are happy with the judgment. I haven’t read the complete order. Salman Khan has been given a five-year simple imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine. If he files an appeal and the court considers it, then he can get the bail.”
Other criminals like Asaram Bapu, Malkhan Singh Vishnoi, and Shambhu Lal are in the same jail and now Salman will be their inmates. Malkhan Singh Vishnoi and Shambhu Lal are accused in the Bawri Devi case and the Rajasthan hacking case and Asaram Bapu was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old schoolgirl on August 3, 2013.
Bhaijaan has been taken into custody by the police and he will be spending the night in barrack number 1 at the Jodhpur Central Jail. His lawyer will move Rajasthan High Court and appeal before the court for Salman’s bail.
