Barack Obama Will Be In India On December 1st, To Hold Town Hall With Young Leaders
Former US President Barack Obama is coming to New Delhi, India On 1st December. He is going participate in a Town Hall, which is being organized by the Obama foundation. The main goal of the town hall is to “Expand the conversation about what it means to be an active citizen and make an impact”. During the event, Obama will be interacting with young leaders of the country and will learn about their work, which will impact their communities.
In a statement released by the foundation, it has recognized India as the world’s “most culturally, religiously, linguistically, and ethnically diverse nations.”.
The Obama Foundation has shared a video on social media regarding the same. In the video, former US president can be seen saying, “I want to have a chance to talk to young people who are doing amazing work all across India. We’re going to be organizing a town hall with young leaders from various parts of India, who can share with me some of the work they’re trying to do in their communities to make it better.”
Obama further added that he is looking to know how the foundation can help emerging leaders in India.
Executive Director of International Programs at Obama foundation, Bernadette Meehan said, “President Obama believes that countries are strongest when we empower our young people – because ultimately, they’re the ones who will shape our future,”
After organizing similar events in countries like Germany, Indonesia, and Brazil this year, the foundation is going to hold the event in India on December 1st.
