B-town celebs rock at Shakeel Ladak’s birthday
15th March saw another one of Bollywood’s fun filled birthday parties. This time, the birthday boy was Shakeel Ladak– husband of Amrita Arora. Arbaaz Khan was the one to organize the party. It was attended by family and close friends. Among the guests were Malaika Arora Khan, Arpita Khan Sharma, Karisma Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Sophie Chaudry and Farhan Akhtar accompanied by his wife Adhuna Akhtar. Dia Mirza too attended the celebrations. The newly wed actress came with her hubby Sahil Sangha. Another one to be spotted was actor Dino Morea. He was seen with his girlfriend Nandita Mahtani who is a designer.
Like any other birthday celebration, B-town parties too are incomplete without selfies! Arpita Khan Sharma did the courtesy of sharing the star studded photos on social media site. She posted group selfies with the celebs in a total fun mood. Dia Mirza looks pretty as ever with her hair let down and a polka dot outfit. Arpita goes all black and Sonakshi is seen in a black and white dress.
Amrita Arora tied the knot with businessman Shakeel Ladak in 2009. The couple has two sons, the first one being Azaan who was born in 2010 on 5th February. Amrita gave birth to her second son Ryan on 20th October 2012. Amrita had earlier had a relationship with Usman Afzal and soon after the split, she started making public appearances with Shakeel. It was reported that the actress’s parents were not happy with this new bond. It was even said that Amrita’s mother had been very fond of her previous boyfriend Usman Afzal. Also, the families of the two had even met and it was understood that they were ready to take it to the next level!
But Amrita’s parents were not happy with her dating Shakeel, as he was five years younger than Amrita. Then the lovebirds had to somehow convince them and they finally got their blessings. The couple’s March 2009 wedding was a wedding to be remembered. Amrita’s mom is Malayali Catholic, her father a Punjabi and Shakeel is a Muslim. So they decided that their wedding would be a very special one – it would reflect all three cultures and it very well did. They had a Christian wedding in the day, followed by Nikah in the afternoon on another day. They held sangeet and mehendi ceremony too.
