Azhar Star Emraan Hashmi Says, Betting Should be Legalize In India
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi loves to play straight shots. Yes, he had worked really hard for ‘Azhar’ which had played a brilliant knock at theatres. Emraan who plays a lot of sports in real life had opened his views on betting issue in sports. Yes, Betting is illegal in India but Emraan Hashmi thinks betting must be legalised in the country.
You must be knowing that Emraan Hashmi’s 2008 film, where he played the role of Arjun Dixit who was a Match Fixer. In the movie, Arjun’s earns easy bucks with his skills to make money out of betting and match fixing. Lately, Emraan Hashmi essayed the character of ‘Mohammad Azharuddin’ in the ‘Azhar’ Biopic, which was appreciated by the critics and fans.
The film talks about the glamorous life of former Cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin and his love affair with actress Sangeeta Bijlani. As we all know, Azharuddin was accused and found guilty of match-fixing in the match-fixing scandal in early 2000. In return the ICC and the BCCI banned Azharuddin for life based on a report by the CBI. Though the ban was later revoked by Andhra Pradesh High Court in 2012 but this controversy has ended her cricket career.
In a recent to Times Of India, Emraan Hashmi feels that Betting should be legalized in India. When asked about the Betting Legalisation, he said, “I think Yes, There is certain Transparency if you legalise things. You can actually put a number on it. Right now there is no number and there is no check on it. So, if things are legalised then you have some check.”
Well, Emraan Hashmi views on Betting is really a positive one and if this will be legalized then a lot of money will get transparent by this. On the film front, Emraan Hashmi is currently working on ‘Raaz Reboot’ and ‘Tigers’.
