Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly Ki Barfi released four months back (18thAugust, 2017) but the family entertainer continues to hold the same freshness among the cinema lovers.
The year 2017 started for the brilliant filmmaker on a great note as she won Best Debut Director award for her internationally acclaimed film, Nil Battey Sannata at the Filmfare Awards 2017. Ending the year on a promising note, Ashwiny has recently bagged Best Director Jury Zee Cine Award 2018 for Bareilly Ki Barfi featuring Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurrana, written by her husband-filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari.
Based on the French book, titled ‘Ingredients of Love’, Ashwiny changed the setting of the story from France to Uttar Pradesh. The family entertainer featuring the trio – Rajkummar, Kriti and Ayushmann took the audience on a joyful ride with quirky UP one-liners and a brilliant narrative.
Ashwiny says, “I’m really thankful to the cast and crew of Bareilly Ki Barfi including cinematographer, writer, actors, producers BR Films and Junglee Pictures… without their support the film wouldn’t have been possible. I would just request everyone to educate the girl child in this country because you can never say you cannot dream, so doesn’t matter where you are, you have the right to dream.”
