Aparshakti Khuranna is the actor who played Omkar Phogat’s character in the blockbuster Aamir Khan movie Dangal. He is also an anchor and sportsman and is the brother of Bollywood actor Ayushman Khurana.

Hailing from Chandigarh, Aparshakti was always active in sports and extra circular activities opposite to his character Omkar in Dangal. He has an accomplished cricketer at the state level and has even captained Haryana cricket team. He speaks fluent Haryanvi and is well versed with the diction of the language. This was a qualification for his being chosen for the role, since it required him to be fluent in the language. Although the role of Omkar is quite short in the film, Aparshakti is very thrilled on the success on the movie also because his work has been appreciated by all. Recently Aparshakti said he is very humbled by the praise he received by the viewers of the film who said he was quite funny and realistic in his acting. He is very grateful to the production team of Dangal that chose him for the role. Omkar is also the narrator of the story beginning from the childhood of the characters.

Aparshakti was recently involved in an infamous fight with an airport official. Regarding that he said that he lost his luggage worth 4-5 lakhs and has not received it back. In his words, “Whatever happened was very unfortunate”.

Aparshakti is all praise for his elder brother Ayushman Khurana who has made a place for himself in Bollywood with his acting and music. He says, Ayushman praised him after he watched Dangal and that meant a lot for him. He was inspired by Ayushman to pursue a career in Bollywood and he supported him well.

Aparshakti is married to Akriti who is a financial planner. After Dangal’s success , he has bagged another film named Babbu Ki Baraat.
