Anupam Kher: Pakistani Actors Must Condemn Attack On Indians

Bollywood actors have seriously condemned the ‘Uri Attacks’ and now Anupam Kher even joined the bandwagon. As we all know, Uri Attacks claimed our 18 Indian soldiers and since then there is an anti-Pakistan wave spreading across India. At Latest, Anupam Kher says Pakistani actors must condemn an attack on Indians. In a recent interview, Anupam Kher revealed, “I condemn the unfortunate massacre of Indian soldiers”. Recently, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has even come forward and gave a 48 Hours ultimatum to Pakistani actors, who are working in India, to leave for Pakistan. Anupam Kher also said, “There are some people from Pakistan who are wonderful and are great hosts. But when it comes to my country and my jawaans (soldiers), I cannot be diplomatic. I’m biased towards my country.” He mentions that arts transcends all boundaries but when it comes to a country then he is biased. He added, “But I think more than that, the responsibility of the actors who work across the border with us should be to condemn the terrorists who killed our soldiers. It’s very important. I am not saying you condemn your country. Politically, it may not be the correct move.” The actor further said, “If my dream has come true it’s because I am an Indian. Indian people, audiences, producers… everybody made me. I am an international actor but from India,” he added. Anupam continued, “That we are thankful; we are given work in this country. But we also condemn the act of killing Indian jawaans”. Even after the horrific attack in Peshawar school, which claimed 147 children, Anupam wrote an open letter to the terrorists. He expressed, “When there was an attack in Peshawar school and 147 children were unfortunately massacred by the terrorists, I being an Indian actor, born in India, wrote an open letter to terrorists, condemning the act. When there is a tragedy…you need to sort of feel bad for it and condemn it. From that level, I wrote it because I felt those children were our children.” On the film front, Anupam Kher will next be seen in Sushant Singh starrer film ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’.
