Recently, celebrity Pilates trainer Yasmin Karachiwala opened up about designing unique workout routines for actresses like Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. In a chat with nutritionist Ryan Fernando on his YouTube channel, Yasmin shared how she customized Alia’s exercise plan during her pregnancy due to her short attention span. She also recalled preparing Katrina for her iconic dance number “Chikni Chameli.”
Yasmin, who has trained many leading actresses including Alia, Kareena Kapoor, and Katrina, reflected on her experience of working with pregnant women. She revealed that training Alia during her pregnancy was a delightful process, but it came with its challenges. Alia, who was expecting her daughter Raha at the time, expressed her desire to exercise daily. However, Yasmin had to keep Alia engaged with varied routines to suit her personality. “Alia has a short attention span,” Yasmin explained. “If I gave her 20 repetitions, I’d lose her focus by the eighth one. So, her workouts had to be quick and constantly changing to keep her on track.”
Yasmin also shared a fun anecdote about Katrina Kaif, who was preparing for the intense dance moves in “Chikni Chameli.” Katrina made it clear that she wanted no visible fat while performing, even jokingly warning Yasmin: “If anything jiggles, I’ll go on national TV and say you’re not a good trainer.” Yasmin tailored a special fitness plan for Katrina to help her achieve that sleek look, ensuring she was camera-ready for the high-energy number.
