Ali Zafar Records a Qawwali for the First Time to Remember Amjad Sabri
In his prolific musical journey, Ali Zafar will be singing qawwali for the first time in his life and that too live on stage.
The versatile singer-composer-actor will be paying a tribute to the popular qawwali singer Amjad Sabri by crooning a qawwali for the first time at a big award show (lux style) later this week for its 15 year anniversary. Ali will also be hosting this show which will be his first time hosting a full show.
Ali has also made a tongue and cheek song specially for the event.
Interestingly, Ali who visited India recently, flew back to Pakistan to prepare for the show. Amjad Sabri was creator of the qawwali “Jholi Bharde meri ya Mohammad..” He died on 22nd June 2016.
Says Ali” It’s a big honour for me to pay homage to a great artist besides hosting a grand celebration of one of our biggest award shows”.
