Ali Zafar paved the way for Pakistani actors in India and was the first to make his big Bollywood debut over 6 years ago. Ever since names like Fawad Khan and Imran Abbas have made their inroads in Bollywood and bagged major projects.
The versatile talent never saw this as a major career move as he has always wanted to be part of cross-over cinema and looks forward to working in many such collaborations in the future.
Says Ali, ” I take great privilege in the fact that back in the day when I came here to shoot Tere Bin Laden in 2008, there was no real exchange happening between Pakistan and India. Things changed after Laden happened. Since then, I have done about six film – half of which did well, half didn’t, which is not a bad score at all. Now, I am doing another film and will continue to do films. At the same time, I am doing films in Pakistan also. Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are doing cross-over projects. The world is becoming more compact, so a lot more exchange between artists is happening. It is fantastic, I’d love to be part of that process too”.
