Amid huge anticipation, Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man released today 9th February 2018. The movie is a social drama directed by R Balki and produced by Twinkle Khanna and Prernaa Arora. The movie also features Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles. Amitabh Bachchan has a cameo appearance.
Coming back to the box office collection of Pad Man, the movie had a decent opening. It was expected as well, as this kind of movie mostly depends on words of mouth. The movie had 20-25% occupancy, which is pretty similar to Akshay’s last film “Toliet: Ek Prem Katha”.
The early report suggests that Pad Man is performing fairly at the box office. The movie should take a good jump on Saturday and Sunday based on the quality. If the movie is really good, it will have a very good weekend box office collection.
While talking about Pad Man, the trade expert Akshaye Rathi said to Pinkvilla.com, “Akshay Kumar’s film does well as we all know and they do anything between Rs 11 to 15 crore. It’s getting a good release and Padmaavat’s screens will subside eventually as people have watched the film as it’s been two weeks now. There’s no Aiyaary either so it will get around 2500 screens. So, it should touch around Rs 12-15 crore at the box office on day 1. I certainly think the film will earn Rs 50 crore in its first weekend and rest depends on word-of-mouth.”
