At latest, when popular TV show host Rajat Sharma asked him about the authenticity of awards shows, Akshay Kumar said, “It happens sometimes that the people from the award night call you and tell you that if you perform there then they can give half the money and give an award as well. I tell them that they can give me complete payment and keep their awards with them. My fans have never stopped giving me rewards in form of their love and support and that is what matters.”
Akshay Kumar also goes on to say that he didn’t have any regret that he didn’t win any national awards. He added, “I don’t think this is something to be so worried about or I should lower my morale. Sometimes my wife (Twinkle Khanna) taunts that her parents (Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia) are National award winners but I don’t get awards.”
This revelation clearly means that there is always something fishy goes on at the award events. As there are many worthy films didn’t even get nominated for the awards. Anyways, Akshay Kumar has opened the dark doors to reveal about the bitter reality of awards.
