Ajaz Khan’s Gets votes lower than Delhi’s AOI.

Ajaz Khan’s Humbling Defeat in Maharashtra Assembly Elections

Ajaz Khan, the Bigg Boss fame actor-turned-politician, suffered a crushing defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, securing a mere 155 votes from the Versova constituency. His defeat was notable, as even the NOTA (None of the Above) option garnered significantly more votes, with 1,298 votes in its favor.

Social Media Popularity Fails to Translate into Votes

Fielded by Chandrashekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), Ajaz Khan’s vast social media following, with over 5.6 million Instagram followers, failed to help him make any impact at the polls. His political debut at the state level has been underwhelming, much like his earlier attempt at the national level. Khan contested the Mumbai North Central seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections but also failed to make a significant mark there.

Fierce Competition in Versova Constituency

While Ajaz Khan struggled to secure votes, the Versova constituency saw a tough battle between Haroon Khan of the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Bharati Lavekar of the BJP. Haroon Khan emerged victorious, winning the seat by a margin of over 1,600 votes.

Maharashtra’s Political Landscape

In contrast to Ajaz Khan’s disappointing performance, the Mahayuti alliance appears poised for a sweeping victory across Maharashtra, projected to win more than 221 seats. On the other hand, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction, seems to be headed for a humiliating defeat.

Ajaz Khan’s political journey seems to have stalled once again, with his social media fame unable to bridge the gap to electoral success.
