After Months of Violence And Threats, Karni Sena Withdraws Protest Against Padmaavat
Padmaavat has been surrounded by controversies ever since it was announced. The movie has been facing the wrath of Shri Rajput Karni Sena, who was adamant on stopping the release of the movie. After months of violence and threats, Karni Sena has decided to withdraw the protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat stating the movie glorifies the Rajputs.
Yogendra Singh Kata, the Mumbai leader of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena said that few members of the organization watched the movie in Mumbai on Friday and they found that the film has glorified the valour and sacrifice of Rajput. He also said that every Rajput would be proud after watching the movie.
He further added in the letter that there is no objectionable scene between ruthless ruler Alauddin Khilji and Rani Padmini, which would hurt the sentiments of Rajputs. Therefore, Karni Sena takes back their protest against the movie and will help the administration in releasing the film in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat along with all the cinema halls in the country.
To uninitiated, Karni Sena has been demanding a ban on the release of Padmaavat ever since it was announced. They have accused the makers of distorting the historical facts and showing Rani Padmavati in poor light. Last month, the Supreme Court had also lifted the band on the movie imposed by some states and directed them to ensure the movie releases smoothly.
Padmaavat featuring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor released last week 25th January 2018. The movie has been doing phenomenal business all around the world. As Karni Sena has withdrawn its protests, the movie can release all across the country smoothly. Everyone can watch the film peacefully.
