Actresses who played “Badass Roles” in 2015

Anushka Sharma in NH10 While in the initial part of the movie Anushka played the role of a corporate, urban woman, in the later part she is seen in a badass role killing the goons who murder her husband Bhumi Pednekar in Dum Laga Ke Haisha Bhumi Padnekar played the role of a small town girl who has to deal with her husband’s disliking and ill-treatment because of her weight. Sandhya, played by Bhumi, does not accept her husband’s mistreatment and decides to give it back in form of a divorce. Deepika Padukone as Mastani in Bajirao Mastani Deepika Padukone has portrayed many shades in the movie. One of them is of a warrior who does not think twice before slaying down her enemy. Kalki Koechelin in Margarita with a Straw Kalki Koechelin was seen in a very powerful role in this movie. Not only she takes a stand for her different sexual preference, she is also seen taking charge of her life and her choices despite suffering from cerebral palsy. Kangana Ranaut in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ Kangana Ranaut was seen in double role in this movie. While she did a commendable job as ‘Tanu’, her portrayal of ‘Kusum’s character was really unforgettable for the fans. As Kusum, Kangana played the role of a Harayanvi girl who is self-made and does not believe in taking advances from roadside Romeos. Priyanka Chopra as Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani Although Kashibai’s role was more about being a cheerful house-maker, she turns into a fierce wife when she discovers about Mastani’s existence in Bajirao’s life. Richa Chadda in Masaan Richa Chadda as Devi kicks some butts in the movie after being charged of ‘indecent behaviour’. She fights back to stay close with the memories of her deceased lover and goes against the opinions of the society. Tabu in Drishyma Tabu plays a police officer who crosses all limits of torture to find out the whereabouts of her missing son. The badass police officer Meera is also a fierce mother who knows no mercy when it comes to the safety of her only child. Priyanka Chopra in Don 2 We still can’t get over PC’s role as Shah Rukh’s favourite jungli billi! She nailed the role to the T, and looked sexy as ever too Rani Mukerji in Mardaani Rani Mukerji surprised us all with her tough performance in Mardaani. We still can’t forget her dialogue in the film, “Apne pappa ko mera naam theek se bol. Shivani Shivaji Roy. Ukhaad jo ukhaadne ka hai.”
