Nawazuddin Siddique is playing the role of author Manto and Rasika Duggal will be playing the role of his wife, Safiyah Manto. Actor Rishi Kapoor also has a pivotal role to play in the biopic. Chandan Roy Sanyal will also appear in the movie. He has earlier appeared in Kaminey and D-Day.

Nawazuddin accompanied Nandita to the festival. Talking about the festival he said, “Cannes is an exciting place to be. Some of the world’s best movies are screened there every year. Every actor, big or small, is respected there. It’s an experience that every actor needs to be a part of at least once in their lives.’’
Nawaz is currently working on Sabbir Khan’s Munna Michael starring Tiger Shroff and Nidhhi Agerwal.
