Abhishek Bachchan: I had the fear of being forgotten
Earlier there was buzz that filmmaker Aditya Chopra is planning to make the sequel of 2005 hit film- Bunty Aur Babli but later on he dropped the idea as there was no script at that time. But recent buzz states that makers of the flm are working on script but no one approached Abhishek Bachchan for it. Right now Abhishek Bachchan is busy promoting his upcoming film Manmarziyan along with Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal.
Recently in a conversation with DNA, Abhishek Bachchan expressed that he had the fear of being forgotten. He also expressed that he was overwhelmed when he got the positive feedback from the audience after the promos of Manmarziyaan were out and then he felt relief as audience still remembered him.
“We all want somebody to come and say, ‘Okay, you tried your best’. I always looked out for people to react. So, when the promos of Manmarziyaan were out and the audience reacted positively, it was overwhelming for me because at the back of my mind, I knew that they still remember me. I heaved a huge sigh of relief. Phew, they remember me! It was a boost for sure because I had the fear of being forgotten,” said Abhishek.
Even though last few films of Abhishek got good numbers but actor was not happy because it was not just the way he wanted it to be and hence he decided to take some time off. “I decided to stop signing films and take some time off to set up my other businesses. I was keen to re-energise and then come back to work. I didn’t want it to be robotic. I needed to remove myself from my comfort zone, and be challenged. I wanted to check what I was doing. But more importantly, it was about how I was doing it. I felt that there was a great sense of complacency that had crept into my work and I have always said that it’s the death of an actor,“ said Jr Bachchan.
On being asked if her ever felt dejected or lost when he was on break, actor replied saying, “No, I didn’t. I was lost before I took the decision to go on a break. The plan was to stop, pull back and re-evaluate. The last two-and-a-half-years have actually been a well-thought-out plan.”
All the best Abhishek for Manmarziyan. Manmarziyan is scheduled to release on 7 September 2018. Stay tuned with us for more Bollywood news and updates.
