Aamir Khan’s Dangal has created a new record which has never been made in the history of Indian cinema. Till yesterday it was the first Indian film to cross Rs 1000 crores collection worldwide and now it has crossed Rs 2,000 crore globally. It has broken all the records and earned Rs. 2.5 crore in China on day 53 and it was reported by the popular Forbes Magazine.
It has become world’s 5th highest-grossing non-English movie. It is the only non-Hollywood movie which made its place in the list of top 16 highest-grossing movies in China. The film was released on May 5th in China.
Dangal is a sports drama starring Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat. For this particular role, Aamir Khan has gained 30 plus kgs and then shed nearly 25 kg to essay this role. In this particular film, Fatima Sana Shaikh has essayed the role of Geeta Phogat and Sanya Malhotra played the role of Babita Kumari.
In India, Dangal was released on December 23rd and continued to run for nearly seven weeks. The lifetime collection of Dangal was 744 crores worldwide. In that, 387 crores was an Indian nett collection. With this collection, it has become the highest earning film till date in Bollywood.
After its release, the movie was at number two position at the Chinese Box Office, as the first position was held by Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 movie. Now it has left behind popular films, such as “The Jungle Book”, “Titanic 3D”, “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon”, “xXx: Return Of Xander Cage”, “Captain America: Civil War”, etc.
On the work front, Aamir Khan will next be seen sharing the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan for the first time in Thugs Of Hindostan. The film will also star Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif in titular roles. The film is set to hit the theatres in 2018. He will also be seen in a cameo role in Advait Chandan’s Secret Superstar, which is set to release on 4th August this year.
