Thespian Dilip Kumar, who was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Saturday morning due to a chest infection, is recovering well now. The nonagenarian actor took to twitter to tell his fans and followers that he is feeling good.
Dilip Saab’s wife actress Saira Banu’s manager Murshid Khan told media: “Dilip sir is fine now and all his reports are also normal. Once doctors give a heads up, he will probably get discharged by tomorrow.”
The ‘Tragedy King’ Dilip Kumar is the epitome of acting in the Indian cinema and considers the best in his art. He started his career in Hindi film industry in 1944 film ‘Jwar Bhata’. He then on goes to star in many super-hit films ‘Deedar’, ‘Azaad’, ‘Aan’, ‘Andaz’, ‘Baabul’, ‘Mela’, ‘Ganga Jamuna’, ‘Ram Aur Shyam’, ‘Jogan’, ‘Shakti’, ‘Saudagar’ and ‘Kranti’.
Dilip Kumar was the first actor to won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in 1952 classic film ‘Daag’, which also stars Nimmi and Usha Kiran. Dilip Kumar has befitted with many awards in his film career which include the Padma Vibhushan in 2015, Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994. He shares a unique record with Shah Rukh Khan for the most wins – eight – in Filmfare Best Actor. Dilip Kumar also received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award in 1993. He was last seen action on the silver screen in 1998 movie ‘Qila’.
