Sanjay Dutt who was imprisoned for the period of 5 years because of his involvement and AK-47 possession before the Mumbai blasts, the actor is currently serving his punishment and has been granted parole for few times and is currently in Yerwada jail of Pune. His conviction came as shock to Bollywood industry, he was jailed at the age of 50 and has maintained a good behavior throughout the period and due to this according to a daily report his jail term period has been shortened by six months.he rulebooks say that an inmate can get a respite of 114 days if they have behaved well during their term in jail.
The actual clause according to the report states that if an inmate behaves well, he gets three days’ leave and if he does a commendable job on the field, he gets four days’ off and is hence calculated in this format. Apart from this, if the inmate displays good behaviour throughout the year, he is entitled to a minimum of 30 days’ leave. The right for these leaves lie in the hands of the sub-supervisors, chief supervisors and senior police officials. They would grant the leave that they deem to be correct.
The actor has maintained his tenure and behaved very well and if all goes according to the clause, Sanjay Dutt can be set free before six months.
