The girl who mesmerized all with her sexy moves in Dil Dostii Dance is now impressing masses with her bubbly and cheerful role of Kaira in Zee TV’s Satrangi Sasural.
Yes, we are talking about the young TV actress, Vrushika Mehta. In an exclusive chit-chat withTellychakkar.com, Vrushika spoke about her role, show, co-stars and more.
How was the transition from youth show to daily soap?
Firstly, I never thought I will bag this show. The process happened very fast. In three days time I got selected and even started shooting for it. Initially, I was very nervous as I have never worked with so many senior actors. The atmosphere and topics of discussing on set are pretty different from D3.
Being the youngest actor in the show how is your bonding with others?
Thankfully everyone is pretty chilled out. I bond well with all of them. The one thing that is common between all of us is the Gujju bond. Most of the actors are Gujarati and we keep chatting in our mother tongue. I really adore Farida ma’am (Jalal). In fact whenever we shoot together she would first ask me to dance and then shoot for a scene. Being the youngest, everyone calls me a kiddo.
Are you enjoying playing the character of Kaira?
Yes, very much. It’s a learning phase for me. When compared to the role of Sharon, the role of Kaira is very different. Currently I am just enjoying and going with the flow.
So will you be taking up only daily soaps now?
I am open to doing both youth based and daily soaps, but the roles should be of my age. I am not fine playing matured characters.
Had you followed Satrangi Sasural earlier?
No as I don’t watch daily soaps.
How is Ravish as a co-star?
First I thought he would have lot of attitude, but after shooting with him I realized that he is such a sweet person. Ravish is a very good actor and it’s fun to be with him.
These days kissing on-screen has become a trend, will you ever kiss on TV?
I will never. I am not comfortable doing intimate scenes on-screen.
Apart from TV shows, what is your take on reality shows?
Given a chance I would love to participate in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Are you single? What qualities do you want to see in your to-be-partner?
I am very much single and my guy should be intelligent and should respect my parents.
Apart from acting what else do you enjoy doing?
I love painting. Whenever I get time I paint cartoons and portraits.
What do you hate the most?
I hate travelling. I love to be with my parents at home.
