The budget of ABCD 2 is 55 crore. While cost of production is 40 crore, P&A has accounted for further 15 crore.
The film has collected around 105 crore already from just India theatrical and around 1-2 crore more may come in more at the end of its run. This is a very handsome total for the film which otherwise had a lifetime expectancy of around 70-80 crore before its release. First in the series, ABCD, had done 50 crore and now the sequel has done double of it, which is a very good trend.
The Remo D’Souza directed film belongs to the kind of genre which is extremely popular on television as well, given its ‘reality show’ flavor. Considering that, the film is expected to get very moolah from satellite circuit as well, hence enjoying a real long and repeated run on the small screen too. Also, even in overseas, the film has done quite well, hence further establishing the popularity of Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor as the young stars.
These factors combined together ensure that the film’s eventual verdict is – SUPERHIT!
