Nana Patekar says Akshay Kumar’s Unique Acting Style, Compares Him to Marlon Brando
Nana Patekar recently praised Akshay Kumar’s unique acting style, comparing it to the legendary Marlon Brando’s approach, and called Akshay a “great actor” for his mastery of the technique. The two worked together in the 2007 cult classic Welcome, and in a conversation with The Lallantop, Nana highlighted Akshay’s method of reading lines from a board while performing—a technique he admitted he personally couldn’t execute.
Drawing a parallel to Brando, Nana referenced a famous scene from Last Tango in Paris, where Brando read his lines from his co-star’s back during an emotional scene, which went on to become iconic in cinema history. Nana commended Akshay’s ability to emote effectively while using this approach, underscoring the individuality of acting styles.
He remarked, “It’s something I can’t do, and he is a great actor.” Nana explained that every actor brings their own method to the craft, and Akshay’s seamless execution of this style deserves admiration.
