Ramesh Bishnoi, cousin of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, recently made several claims regarding Bollywood star Salman Khan and the blackbuck controversy. He alleged that Salman Khan approached their community with a chequebook after the blackbuck hunting incident, further asserting that their entire community stands behind Lawrence Bishnoi in this matter.

In an interview with NDTV, Ramesh demanded a public apology from Salman Khan, accusing the actor’s family of disrespecting their religious sentiments. He emphasized that if Khan doesn’t apologize, they would rely on the law to take its course.

Ramesh highlighted the Bishnoi community’s deep-rooted reverence for wildlife, stating that their ancestors sacrificed their lives to protect nature. He explained that Khan’s act of killing the blackbuck, a sacred animal for the Bishnois, deeply angered the community. While they left the matter to the court, he noted, “The entire Bishnoi community stands with Lawrence on this issue.”

He also refuted claims made by Salman’s father, Salim Khan, who allegedly said that the Lawrence gang was motivated by money. Ramesh denied this, asserting, “Salman came to us with a chequebook, offering to settle the matter financially. If we were after money, we would have accepted it then.”

Ramesh Bishnoi further stated that while Salman was convicted in the blackbuck case and sentenced to five years, Lawrence Bishnoi has not been proven guilty of any crimes. He rejected allegations of Lawrence’s involvement in murder and extortion cases, stressing that the gangster’s family owns 110 acres of land and would not need to resort to ransom demands.

Salman Khan’s blackbuck hunting case dates back to 1998 during the filming of *Hum Saath Saath Hain*. He was sentenced to five years in prison by the Rajasthan High Court in 2018 but was later granted bail.
