Bigg Boss 18: Alice Kaushik recalls being shattered after receiving her father’s suicide news; says, ‘The cop sent me a photo…’

Actress Alice Kaushik, currently seen on *Bigg Boss 18* alongside host Salman Khan, has been garnering attention for her strong friendships with fellow contestants Eisha Singh and Avinash Mishra. In a recent episode, Alice had an emotional conversation with co-contestant Nyrraa Banerji, where she recalled the heartbreaking moment she learned of her father’s suicide.
Alice revealed that her parents had a tumultuous relationship, marked by frequent, intense fights. Despite her father’s violent tendencies, she admitted feeling closer to him than her mother. “Even though my dad was a little violent, I was closer to him because he understood my emotions,” she shared.
When Nyrraa asked if her father had ever been violent toward her, Alice candidly admitted that both her parents had been abusive. “We grew up with that. For the longest, this was normal for us,” she said.
The actress recounted the devastating moment in 2016 when she learned of her father’s death. After being urged by her mother to call him after several years of no contact, Alice was met with a stranger on the phone. When she asked for her father, the person responded, “He is no more.” Initially thinking it was a cruel joke, Alice angrily demanded to speak to her father. The person on the phone turned out to be a police officer, who informed her of her father’s suicide and later sent her a photo of the scene. “That image didn’t leave my mind for four years,” Alice revealed, describing the traumatic impact it had on her.
Alice also spoke about her strained relationship with her mother, who had remarried by the time of her father’s death. “She was more interested in her new husband,” Alice disclosed, adding that her mother’s indifference and her own eventual need to move out had left lasting emotional scars.
Despite the overwhelming challenges she has faced, Alice has remained resilient. She was previously a finalist on *Pandya Store*, where she met her current boyfriend, actor Kanwar Dhillon. Host Salman Khan has expressed confidence in Alice’s chances of winning *Bigg Boss 18*, praising her strength in overcoming her past traumas.
