Ranbir is going to be the new face of Dhoom Franchise

In 2004, Aditya Chopra teamed up with John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Uday Chopra to bring Dhoom to life, directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. The film introduced a fresh style of action storytelling to Indian cinema, with John Abraham’s portrayal of a grey character becoming an iconic, cool villain. In 2006, the stakes were raised when Hrithik Roshan joined Dhoom 2 as the antagonist, further elevating the franchise. By 2013, Aamir Khan took the lead in Dhoom 3, and ever since, fans and the media have been buzzing about the potential casting for Dhoom 4.

According to recent reports, Dhoom 4 has officially entered pre-production at Yash Raj Films under the guidance of Aditya Chopra. “The *Dhoom* franchise is very close to Aditya Chopra’s heart, and he’s decided to reboot it for modern audiences. Like the earlier films, the script for *Dhoom 4* (titled Dhoom Reloaded) is being crafted by Aditya and Vijay Krishna Acharya. Their aim is to deliver an unparalleled cinematic experience with this next chapter,” shared a source familiar with the project.

The same report also revealed that Ranbir Kapoor has been confirmed as the lead in Dhoom 4. “Talks with Ranbir have been ongoing for quite some time. He was always intrigued by the concept and expressed interest early on, and now it’s official—Ranbir will headline the franchise. Aditya Chopra believes that Ranbir is the perfect fit to carry forward the Dhoom legacy,” the source added.

Although Ranbir will portray the villain in this installment, none of the original cast members will return, as the reboot aims to start afresh. “Two prominent actors from the younger generation are being considered for the roles of the iconic cop duo. With the main story locked in, the team is now moving forward with casting. Dhoom 4 is set to not only be the biggest film in the series but also a global-standard blockbuster from Indian cinema,” the source concluded.
