Shannon Lee is planning to feature her late father on the big screen in a film about his life as an iconic Hollywood star. He died aged 32 when she was just four in 1973.

But as well as his physical ability that is immortalised in his most well-known works Enter the Dragon and Fist of Fury, the feature-length film is set to focus on his spiritual and artistic side.

According to The Wrap, Ms Lee said: “There have been projects out there involving my father, but they’ve lacked a complete understanding of his philosophies and artistry. They haven’t captured the essence of his beliefs in martial arts or storytelling.

“Many don’t know that Bruce Lee was also a prolific writer and a creator of his own unique art and philosophy.

“That’s what we want to show, not just his kick-ass physicality, but the depth of his character and beliefs.”

As well as acting, Bruce Lee kept an extensive library, was deeply philosophical and was fond of writing poetry.

An unofficial film called Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story was released in 1993 two months before his son Brandon, who was also a martial artist and actor, was accidentally killed by a defective blank while filming The Crow.
