Deepika Padukone flies back to Goa for Shakun Batra’s film after NCB row
We all know how the last month went for Deepika Padukone and other Bollywood stars who were summoned for questioning by Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case. When Deepika was rolled summoned she was busy shooting for Shakun Batra’s next in the coastal state of Goa. However, the shoot hit a road block as the actress had to fly back to Mumbai to appear before the agency officials. Supporting her wifey, husband Ranveer Singh had also zoomed off from Goa with Deepika and returned to Mumbai together. But now, as things have settled down a bit, and the actress has recorded her statement with the anti-drug agency she is back in Goa to resume shooting for her upcoming movie.
As per reports, Shakun Batra’s upcoming film, which talks about four friends who go on a road trip, stars ‘Gully Boy’ actor Siddhant Chaturvedi and newbie Ananya Panday, who has given ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ and ‘KhaaliPeeli’. As Deepika returned to the sets after more than 10 days, the makers made sure that she eases into her character and shot a light herald scene with her. Talking about it detail a source said, “Deepika was in good spirits as she joined the unit last Thursday. Since there had been a 10-day-plus break, Shakun wanted her to ease into the process. She shot a light-hearted scene with Siddhant and Ananya.”
Meanwhile to save themselves some time, the makers of the untitled film, were said to have shot scenes featuring Siddhant and Ananya, while Deepika was in Mumbai. “When Deepika was in Mumbai, Shakun shot the combination scenes of Siddhant and Ananya,” the source added.
Furthermore, Shakun Batra, who last donned director’s hat for ‘Kapoor & Sons’, has remained tight-lipped about this film which narrates two young couples journey who hit a road trip. “The movie studies the relationship dynamics between four friends who go on a road trip,” the source stated.
To note, the movie is bank rolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and resumed shooting in the month of September after a break of a few months due to the coronavirus imposed lockdown. In view of precautions owing to the pandemic, the cast and crew on the sets of the film have adapted the bio-bubble mode at the Vivanta Goa hotel in Panjim.
