CBFC Does It Again, Now Cuts Ranveer And Alia’s Passionate Kiss From Gully Boy
The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) never fail to amaze us. The board has done it again. This time, they have cut a scene from Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
Amidst lots of anticipation, Gully Boy is slated to release this week. However, it seems that fans won’t be able to see the passionate kissing scene between lead pair Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. It is a normal scene even for Indian viewers, however, it looks like CBFC is not too happy with the scene and they have demanded it to be removed.
The CBFC has demanded this kissing scene to be cut by 13 seconds. The makers are asked to remove the close-up shot of the kiss. That’s Sanskaari beyond anybody’s imagination, isn’t it?
According to CBFC, the “passionate Kiss scene” must be shortened. These are the exact terms illustrated by the censor board.
Gully Boy tells the story of underground rap culture of India meaning the movie will have cuss words quite often. But censor board has also asked these cuss words to be removed. Not only this, but the board also asked the makers to remove Royal Stag. Royal Stag is a brand partner for the film. This is for the first time that a brand partner’s name has to be removed, all thanks to CBFC.
