Kumbh 2019: Yogi Government Bans All Marriages In Prayagraj Between January and March
The government of Uttar Pradesh headed by Yogi Adityanath has now banned all the marriages in Prayagraj (Allahabad) that were supposed to take place between January 2019 and March 2019. It is one shocking announcement from the government, as it is the wedding season in the state.
This is going to disappoint many families, who had wedding plans during that period. Yogi Government has issued an official statement stating that no weddings can take place in Prayagraj from one day before the Kumbh Snaan to one day after Kumbh Snaan. Usually, Kumbh Snaan lasts from January to March.
After issuing the statement, the government has also sent notice to all the wedding halls and banquets in the city giving them strict instruction for canceling all the events in the same time frame. This decision of the government is definitely going to cause problems to many, who are forced to change their wedding plans all of a sudden. They have only two options left: first they can postpone the wedding or second they can shift the locations to someplace other than Prayagraj.
Earlier, Yogi Government has issued notice banning all tanneries between December this year to March 15, 2019. This order has been passed in order to make Ganga clean during Kumbh Mela.
Kumbh Mela is one of the largest gatherings in the world, where thousands of devotees, saints, seers, and other people come to Prayagraj. The mela will start from January 15 and expected to end sometime in March.
