After Independent Investigation, Netflix Retains Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane And Varun Grover For Season 2
Netflix original Sacred Games created a wave when the show was launched. The first season of the crime drama show featuring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte received a huge appreciation from audience and critics alike. After watching the first season, fans have been eagerly waiting for the second season of the show.
Earlier, Sacred Games Season 2 landed in trouble due to Varun Grover’s name in #MeToo movement. The fate of the show was on a limb until now. Netflix has now stated that they will work with the original team behind the hit show. The online streaming giant carried out an independent investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment against two persons involved with the show.
Netflix emailed a statement to Reuters saying that the company will keep working with the lead writer of the show Varun Grover, whose name came out in #MeToo movement in India. The statement further says that it would continue their work with the directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, whose production house was behind the show.
Back in September, Netflix announced the Sacred Games Season 2 but the show landed itself in trouble when Phantom Films was dissolved owing to the sexual harassment allegations against one of the partners Vikas Bahl. Both of them have denied the allegations.
Netflix said, “After an independent investigation, the results helped inform Netflix’s decision to continue with Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap on season 2 of Sacred Games,”
It further added,
“We continue to collaborate with our production partners to ensure and maintain a safe and respectful working environment.”
