Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol walked the ramp for designer Sanjukta Dutta at Lakme Fashion Week. Mother-daughter walked together in beautiful Assamese silk saris setting stage on fire. Esha looked beautiful in a lehenga saree whereas Hema Malini rocked the traditional look.
At backstage, Hema Malini talked about the outfit and Esha’s upcoming film Cakewalk. Being a proud mother, Hema said “She has acted in short film directed by our friend (journalist-author) Ram Kamal Mukherjee. I think Esha has done a beautiful job. But then, I am her mother. My opinion is bound to be seen as biased. Please see it for yourself and judge what she has done.”
The moment Hema Malini passed mic to Esha to interact with media, the anchor interrupted and categorically mentioned that it’s not a media interaction and asked the designer to take over. This didn’t go well with Esha and she walked off, followed by mother Hema Malini. She was visibly upset.
“Walking the ramp with my most comfortable partner my mother Hema Malini for the awesome talented designer Sanjukta Dutta! Our best wishes to you,” Esha had posted after the show on her Instagram handle.

Earlier, Esha expressed her excitement about walking ramp with her mother. She told news agency IANS that, “I am very excited to be back on the ramp with my mom Hema Malini for designer Sanjukta Dutta to promote my film Cakewalk, directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee. The film deals with a certain issue which every women and men in our country will be able to relate.”
