Veere Di wedding BANNED In Pakistan For “Vulgar Dialogues And Obscene Scenes”
Veere Di Wedding featuring Kareena Kapoor and Sonal Kapoor in the lead roles is all set to hit the theatres tomorrow worldwide. But, it won’t be able to release in neighbouring country Pakistan. The movie has been banned in Pakistan for its “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes.”
The chairman of CBFC, Pakistan, Danyal Gilani said to IANS, “Members of the CBFC unanimously decided to not allow the film for public exhibition in the cinemas as its content flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980.”
Veere Di Wedding was screened for the Central Board of Films Censors, Pakistan on Tuesday night. After watching the movie they decided to ban the film because it was unfit for exhibition due to the excessive “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes”. According to the report of The Express Tribune, the distribution club also withdrew their application for the certification after seeing the criticism from the members of the board.
Coming back to the movie, Veere Di Wedding is an upcoming comedy film directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi. The movie features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhasker in the lead roles. The film is scheduled to release on 1st June 2018.
