Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh’s film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety emerges triumphant at the box-office over the weekend. The film which released on 23 February, 2018 is an uproarious take on friendships, girlfriends and marriage.
The film directed by Luv Ranjan and produced by T-series opened to mixed reviews form critics, however the word of mouth is super strong which helped them win over youngsters as we as family audience. After collecting 6.42 cr on the first day, the film went on to collect 9.34 cr and 10.81 cr on Saturday and Sunday respectively, thus bringing the total to 26.57cr.
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety released in 1925 screens worldwide and is doing extremely well at the domestic market. It also emerges the third best opener of 2018. This bromance v/s romance tale has kept the audience glued to their chairs unlike Sonakshi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Welcome To New York which also released on the same day.
No A list stars, no film franchise, no festival or holiday Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety still managed to win over the audience with just its content. This goes on to prove that content is the real king. As per the trade analyst the film might cross 20 crore mark on its first three days, and for a small budget film like this indeed is a big achievement.
