Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor passed away yesterday in Mumbai. The actor was suffering from a prolonged illness. He took his last breath at 5:20 PM at Kokilaben Hospital Mumbai. He was suffering from a kidney ailment. He had undergone dialysis for the same. Shashi Kapoor was in a wheelchair for years.
The sudden demise of Shashi Kapoor came as a shock to everyone including fans and industry colleagues. Mr. Kapoor has ruled Indian cinema for many years. He has given several blockbuster films in his long film career.
Shashi Kapoor’s funeral was done with state honors. The actor received 3-Gun Salute. His body was wrapped in the tricolor, as people said the final goodbye to the actor. The last rites of the actor were held at Santacruz Crematorium. All the big names from the industry gathered around to pay last respect to the legendary actor. Actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were present at the funeral ceremony.
