Vidya Balan starrer Tumhari Sulu is winning millions of hearts, as the audiences are coming to the theater and giving rave reviews to the movie. The film has received positive words of mouth from the critics as well as moviegoers. Vidya has impressed everyone with her stellar performance. However, there is a very sad news, especially for the makers of the film. According to the reports, Suresh Triveni’s directorial ‘Tumhari Sulu’ has been leaked online.
Director Suresh Triveni reacts to the leaked news in an interview with leading daily Mid-Day. He has accused people of not wanting to watch good cinema when it is available in the theater. Talking about the same, he said, “People commit a big crime by watching a [pirated] film. It is an injustice towards the entire film industry. [If they do so] they should not have any expectations from us. It’s irresponsible to be party to piracy.” According to multiple reports, the movie was leaked within the first week of its release. The lead actor Vidya Balan has also urged people not to indulge in piracy, but it is sad that such things happen.
Talking about the leak, Vidya said, “Today, films are officially available on various platforms in around two months from their release date. But, it is fun to watch them in theatres. As an artist, I feel hurt. We put in a lot of hard work [into making a film]. The least that people can do is not support [those who indulge in piracy]. This way, we can stop this illegal practice. It makes me angry,”
There are various online portals, who are offering low-resolution of ‘Tumhari Sulu’, whereas some portals are offering a high-resolution copy of the film. The makers of the movie think that the leak is going to affect lifetime business of the film because the movie has been leaked just a week after the release.
Whether the makers of Tumhari Sulu will take any legal actions towards this unfortunate event, it is still not clear. Talking about the legal action, co-producer Atul Kasbekar said that it will totally depend on T-Series. He said, “Each time we get a notice, we inform T-Series. Their team immediately swings into action. Piracy is a menace. It is irresponsible, illegal and immoral to do it.”
