The problem for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus is not looking to die down. The movie has been surrounded by several controversies. The movie has fallen prey to political parties, religious and cultural groups, as they want to put a ban on the release of the film. The situation is getting worse every passing day, it has become so difficult that the movie is getting banned at some places.
In the latest development, Padmavati is going to be banned in some states of the country. Padmavati is a period film, which has been made with a huge budget of Rs. 180 Crore. Several groups are mad with the fact that the movie has distorted some historical facts. Karni Sena believes that the movie features a dream sequence between celebrated Rajput queen Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji. The makers of the film have denied any such sequences on multiple occasions.
The situation is getting intense every passing day. The biggest shock for the makers come from Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has banned Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated film Padmavati in the state. According to the report, the Rajput community has asked CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to ban the movie. Now, it looks like the CM has agreed to the same. This means Padmavati won’t be releasing in MP.
In addition to MP, the movie is also not going to release in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh also don’t want Padmavati to be released in the state. Talking about the same, he said, “Nobody will accept the distortion of history and those who are protesting are rightly doing so.”
This is shocking news, as the makers have postponed the release of Padmavati owning to huge outrage. The movie was scheduled to release on December 1st, but it has been postponed to an unknown date.
