Manushi Chhillar Wins Miss World 2017, Ends India’s 17-year Wait
Manushi Chhillar won the Miss World 2017 in a dazzling ceremony held on 18th November held at Sanya City Arena. She ended a 17-year old wait in India and finally become Miss World after Priyanka Chopra. Beating 108 contestants from all around the world, she clinched the title of Miss World. Priyanka Chopra was the last crowned in 2000.
Manushi Chhillar received the coveted crown from Miss World 2016 Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle. Chhillar hails from Haryana and had won the Femina Miss India 2017 on 25th June this year. The top five spots were grabbed by India, England, France, Kenya, and Mexico. England’s Stephanie Hill is the first runner-up, whereas Miss Mexico Andrea Mexa is the second runner-up.

Chhillar has studied at St. Thomas School in New Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College from Women in Sonepat. Her entire family including sister and brother were present at the event. They seemed delighted after she grabbed top five spots.
In the Q&A round, Chhillar was asked, “Which profession deserves the highest salary and why?”
Her Reply was:
“I think a mother is of the highest respect. I don’t think its just about cash but love and respect she gives to someone. She is the biggest inspiration in my life. Mother should get the highest respect.”
