Mumbai’s Elphinstone Station Stampede: 22 People Dead And Many Injured

Reportedly, 22 people have been dead in the stampede, which happened at Elphinstone Railway Station in Mumbai. 32 people including 23 men and 9 women have been injured in the horrific incident. The stampede happened at around 10:30 am morning today.

The injured people have been taken to KEM Hospital for treatment.

According to the reports in a leading daily, four trains had arrived at the same time at the Elphinstone Station. Some of the commuters got slipped due to the rains, which led to this horrific tragedy.

According to the police investigation, the stampede was caused due to a short circuit. The short circuit produced a loud noise, which created panic among people.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis has announced a relief of Rs. 5 Lakh for the family of the deceased victim, whereas the government will wear the entire expenses for the injured.
