Shah Rukh Khan Is Set To Play A Soldier In War Drama Khukri

After the Biopics, the current trend in Bollywood is about war-drama movies. The trend was started with last year’s Airlift, which was followed by Salman Khan’s Tubelight and now Shah Rukh Khan’s Khukri. In this coming project, SRK will be seen as a soldier role.

Interestingly, SRK has started his career in the entertainment Industry with the serial Fauji in the early 90’s. Soon after that, he forayed into Cinema and never looked back. In 2012 movie, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, he again played the role of a soldier. And now, he is back in the same avatar with the realistic cinema based on the actual Military operation Khukri.


The Khukri operation was backed by United Nations and involved four countries, India, Ghana, Nigeria and United Kingdom. Indian army soldiers’ Gorkha Regiment army men were sent to rescue the 223 Indian soldiers, who were captured by Revolutionary United Front (RUF) in Sierra’s (West Africa). This operation was carried between 13 July – 16 July in 2000.
